Eligibility Criteria
For the University of Science and Technology of USTC International Scholarships for International Students, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Non-Chinese nationals who are not currently studying in China are required to apply.
- To be eligible for the bachelor’s degree scholarship, applicants must possess an HSK5 certificate and a high school diploma (which is the same as a Chinese high school diploma).
- For the Master’s degree scholarship, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree.
- To be eligible for the Ph.D. degree scholarship, applicants must hold a Master’s degree.
- Limit on Age:
- You must be under the age of 30 by September 1, 2023, in order to be considered for the undergraduate degree program.
- By September 1, 2023, you must be under the age of 35 to be considered for the Master’s degree program.
- By September 1, 2023, you must be under the age of 40 to be considered for the doctoral program.
- The candidates must be in good health.
- To ensure that they will complete their studies and receive their degrees by July 2023, graduates must submit a Pre-graduation Certificate. This will ensure that they will receive their degrees in 2023.
Scholarship Benefits
Candidates who are selected for the University of Science and Technology of USTC International Scholarships will receive substantial financial benefits. The following are the benefits of a scholarship:

- For a Bachelor of Science: Master’s Degree: CNY2,500 per month: CNY 3,000 per month to earn a doctorate: 3,500 CNY per month
Required Documents
To apply for the USTC International Scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents in addition to the Online Application form on the official application portal.
- An online application for the USTC Scholarship with a signature, a recent photograph, and a passport photocopy. A study or research proposal of no less than 800 words.
- Two letters of recommendation, a current CV or resume, a copy of the foreigner’s physical examination form, and a copy of the academic transcript for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees (if any).
