Your Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be crucial to the smooth operation of the facility. Your main duties will include general repairs and maintenance for the Block 22’s first-floor and basement areas. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- HVAC and Refrigeration (65%): Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, pumps, and condensers. Your tasks will range from installing equipment to designing and fabricating metal ductwork.
- Electrical (20%): Install and repair electrical systems, including light switches, outlets, and more. You’ll also ensure fire and smoke alarms are functioning properly.
- Carpentry (5%): Handle carpentry jobs like fixing tables and chairs and replacing ceiling tiles.
- Plumbing (5%): Oversee plumbing maintenance, such as hot and cold water lines and drain systems.
- Miscellaneous Maintenance (5%): Perform tasks like lock repairs, gutter maintenance, and managing contracted repairs.
What You Need
To do well in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with operating various equipment.
